Congregational Budget Conversation slides with notes
In mid-2011 Bishop O'Neill informed the clergy at their clergy conference
that provision would be made in the Diocese of Colorado, ahead of the
provision by The Episcopal Church in General Convention, for the blessing
of same-sex unions in congregations which wished to do so. The two letters
summarizing the permission guidelines are below. For more information,
please see Fr. Scott.
Letter One
Letter Two
The people and clergy of St. Matthias value community among those who
consider this church their home, our relationship in the Anglican Church,
and Biblical Faith.
We value:
Christian Community: We seek to nurture and maintain a true sense of
belonging and community among those who worship and learn together
as St. Matthias.
Our Anglican Heritage: St. Matthias is a part of the Episcopal Church in
the United States and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We value this
heritage, its forms of worship, and its polity.
Biblical Faith: St. Matthias holds the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New
Testament to be the word of God and seeks to live the relationship with
God and others as the Bible describes.
